Eddie A. Greenfield, 66, of rural South Coffeyville, OK, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK.
He was born December 29, 1947, at Coffeyville to Frank and Adelina (Samer) Greenfield. Eddie grew up on the family farm near South Coffeyville; he attended local schools, and graduated from Lenapah High School. After high school Eddie attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business. While in college Eddie was a member of Chi Alpha Singing Group.
On August 1, 1970, he married Kay Linnet at Sapulpa, OK. Following their marriage they made their home in rural South Coffeyville, where Eddie farmed and raised cattle. Eddie also worked at Parmac and later as a boilermaker at Farmland Refinery. For almost 30 years Eddie has been the Pastor at Abundant Life Temple in Coffeyville.
He was a member of Abundant Life Temple, Full Gospel Men's Fellowship, and Boilermakers Local #83. Eddied loved to sing. When he wasn't helping others Eddie enjoyed beekeeping, scuba diving, ham radio, fixing things and going to auctions.
Survivors include his wife, Kay of the home; two daughters, Cheryl Kay Foster and husband Tim of rural South Coffeyville, and Barbara Morine Barriger and husband Josh of Independence; one brother, Johnie Greenfield and wife Gail of rural South Coffeyville; four grandchildren, Colten Foster, Cami Foster, Charlee Barriger, and Jackson Barriger.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service celebrating Eddie's life will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the First Assembly of God with Pastor Eldon Bryce and Pastor Sheri Milburn officiating. Following Eddie's wishes cremation has taken place.
Friends may sign the register book on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Abundant Life Temple, 202 Washita St., (West 2nd and Washita).
