Gus and I will miss our dearly loved friend, Cheryl. Cheryl was a generous, loyal and devoted friend to us and we treasured her friendship. When I was out of town helping my mother recover from an accident, Cheryl was taking my husband to the emergency room, hovering over him at the hospital, calling me with hourly updates and later, caring for him at our house. My dog, Lucy, who gave her love sparingly, loved Cheryl as much as we did. Cheryl had a gift for making everyone (human and canine) feel special. She never passed on an opportunity to share a laugh or offer comfort, whether it be a pat on the hand or a hug. I watched her soothe troubled people she had just met and see the sadness disappear as she helped them find something to smile or laugh about. She was good at that - almost as good as she was when she would encourage a small child's imagination and they were awed by some magic she had just help them discover. I never met a person who had been around Cheryl that didn't walk just a little prouder or feel a bit lighter after spending time with her. She was a gift to us. Our deepest sympathies and condolences to her family and friends.

Hello. Our tears are continually falling like this rain here, for our dear
close friend of many years. We just arrived home from a week in Dallas area for medical reasons, and see the lovely attribute in our Daily Ardmoreite, this Friday, Jan.11. She last visited our home a year ago this Month as a guest in our piano concert New Year Tea. We loved her and tried our best to help her whenever needed. She leaves a big hole in our lives and our childrens' but we also know that she in have a grand time in her world of literature with our Christ, our Lord Jesus in Heave. We live across the street from her Step-Son Ryan Hunnicutt, Julie and the children. She was such a close grandmother to them that for several years she cared for them every day. Good by, Cheryl, we'll see you soon. I had the joy of attending many OWFI (Okla.Writers'Fed.Inc. Meetings with her, and had her support those many years in writing my own book and serving as local President of So.Ok.Writers Guild. almost 9 years.
Love you forever, see you soon, Cheryl -Such a hard way to go. Thanks for being a help as part of the family when my father and when our son died in 1995. We'll always love you. Kisses and hugs, your pals, Al and Marion in Ardmore, OK.

I cannot recall a time when contact with Cheryl was unpleasant -she was a gentle, sweet woman with a kind smile and was so very soft spoken - she ALWAYS recognized you and would go out of her way to speak to you. I never heard a complaint from her. God's light did shine in Cheryl - hugs to the family!

Cheryl was a woman of faith who lived each day with hope, peace, joy and love . For over 20 years she worked with the less fortunate; she treated everyone with dignity and kindness. My prayers are with the family. May your memories of Cheryl and her love of each one of you be a blessing now and always.

Cheryl was a wonderful friend and co-worker. My life was blessed by having known her. She would always give you a smile and words of encouragement. She was a gentle, kind woman with an enormous strength in living her life. Although we feel a great loss, I know she's in a better place with no more struggles or pain. Rest well, sweet Cheryl, until we meet again.
Forever in my heart,
Paula
