Hi Kathy, Gary and Heather,
I just stumbled on these very sad news about Ann and Bill, and wanted to send you my deepest feelings.
I will always cherish the memory of our '93 Christmas together, almost 20 years ago, and the warm feeling of finding a very special group of people in the nicest of occasions! A very special family.
I will never forget the help Ann gave me with my very poor tennis skills.
I wish I could hug each one of you now, and could tell you, in person: there are better days ahead.
Love,
Rafa

Bill and Ethel,
I just wanted to tell you how sorry I was to hear about Ann. I have such fond memories in our young years playing at your house and how you and mom would warn the new teacher for the year that she might need to seperate us because of all the talking we did. We sure had some good times. I want to express my sympathy for the loss of Billy Bob too. May God help you through these times of sadness and shine the light on the good memories.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family,
Donna (Kelley) Woods

I was shocked to hear about the passing of Bill, who did my wedding hair-do and whom to this day remains my favorite hair stylist, and now Ann, with whom I spent countless hours in high school playing tennis (often until the lights went off) and talking about life. Ann was much more than a tennis coach to me, she was an inspiration and a friend. In her quiet way, she helped me believe in myself, and made me not only a better tennis player, but a stronger and better person. I am so sorry for your loss of Ann, but I hope you find comfort in reading what a positive impact she had on so many people.

Dear Ethel & Bill,
We were late in learning of Ann's passing. We know she is with God, but, oh, how we will miss her wonderful smile! She has always been an inspirationso much talent, so much intelligence, & so much kindness all wrapped up in one body! We are forever grateful for her amazing willingness & patience to help Sherri become the best basketball Sherri's limited vision would allowin the midst of Ann's very busy life. Not many teens are so generous & kind.
Our sympathy is with you all. Two passings of children in such a short time span has to be incredibly hard. Our love and prayers are with you. May God bless you with His comfort.

I first met Ann in Sept 1967 when we moved across the street from you in the 1300 block of West 5th St. Ann and I were both 7 years old and in the second grade at Garfield. Ann and I went all through elementary and high school together. I sure was at your house a lot. Being a car nut, I remember every single car your family has ever owned and I remember your home phone number to ths day. Your family always made me feel welcome. Ann and I kept in touch all of these 45 years. If I was back in Coffeyville for any reason, I'd stop to visit her. Ann had a great memory regarding all the fun we used to have as kids. We played basketball, high jump and even hit many golf balls right there in your back yard. The amazing tree house built for her by her dad was so great! Of course riding up and down the ally in the golf cart was always fun. Ann and I went trick or treating together for many years in a row. We would walk about seven blocks down one side of West 5th, to Holy Name Church and then back home on the other side. We could hardly carry all of our candy. In all of those "kid" years Ann and I had only one fight. Tami Jackson from down the street was there in your front yard with us. I have no idea of what it was about, but Ann actually broke a rake handle by hitting me on the head with it. I was okay but I had a heck of a knot on my head. Kids! This was truly our only fight. Knowing Ann and your family has been so much a part of me for all of these years. I knew from my last hospital visit with Ann that it would be my last. I sat there at her bedside and told her that she had been one of the best friends I had ever had and that I loved her very much. Well, knowing Ann, she didn't say she loved me too but she broke a smile and whispered, "Thank you Mark". She was so very weak at that time but I sure got her to smile. I talked to her about Heaven and about how much Jesus loved her. I prayed for her at her bedside. I would not trade my recent visits with her for anything. I will miss Ann so much and I will never forget her or what our friendship has meant to me. I am thankful God provided me with a close friend like Ann for all of these 45 years. We all wanted her for 45 more years, however it was not meant to be. Thanks for being the wonderful parents you were to Kathy, Billy and Ann. You will forever be in my thoughts and prayers and Ann will forever be a part of my best memories in life.

Bill, Ethel and Family,
I am saddened to read of the losses you have suffered this year. I knew Ann and watched more of her basketball games than her tennis matches or her other sporting triumphs. She worked hard to be amazing at every sport she participated in and she was humble and friendly at the same timewhich is truly unique. She is loved by many and our thoughts and prayers are with you.
