Ella Fern Burrus, 80, of Nowata, OK passed away Saturday June 23, 2012 in Chandler, AZ.
She was born July 24, 1931 to Clint and Alice Gentry at Hardy, OK. Fern grew up and began her education at Howard, KS before moving to Coffeyville where she graduated from Field Kindley High School.
Fern made her home in the Coffeyville area until moving to Nowata, OK in 1988. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her yard and gardening.
She is survived by her companion of over 40 years Jim Brown of the home, one son; Ernest Burrus of Broken Arrow, OK, two grandchildren; Deni Burrus, and Chad Burrus, and two great grandchildren; Devin Goryl, and Brennan Goryl.
She is preceded in death by and her parents, and one son.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Veterans Memorial Patio in Fairview Cemetery. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
