Henry worked miracles in helping students play musical instruments and then play all together in such a way that it sounded good. I was amazed time after time :) We are so sorry that the world has lost him and we are sorry for your loss, Faye.

Henry was a wonderful teacher and a good guy. I didn't know it when I was in his band classes, but his teaching would have a huge impact on my future. When I was trying to go to college, I wasn't good enough to get a sports scholarship, but I spoke with the band director and he just happened to be looking for some extra low brass for the CCC band. After I told him I was a local band guy and Henry Millen was my teacher, he gave me a full ride scholarship on the spot. Later in life I would run into Henry a few times around town and I consider myself very fortunate for having the opportunity to thank him repeatedly on those occasions for teaching me how to play. It is because of him that I was able to go to college, get a degree, and make new friendships that have lasted a lifetime. Thank you Henry and Faye for giving so much to me and to our community. Though I'm sure Henry is already up there somewhere telling some harp-toting angel to stay with the beat, I'll miss knowing that he's down here giving the gift of music to another kid with big dreams from the little town of Coffeyville.

Saddened to hear of Mr. Millen's passing. I enjoyed learning from him at Roosevelt and in city band. I still remember the fun we had on jazz band tours and going to Miami for contest. He was a fun and talented teacher. He will be missed. My prayers for his family and friends.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Millen. Jordan was under his guidance in both school and city band. He was always pleasant and encouraging when we had the opportunity to communicate. He seemed to genuinely care about his students. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. May God bless and keep you in his care.

I am sorry for your loss. I remember having Mr. Millen as my 7th and 8th grade music teacher. His influence is what got interested in joining the jazz band at Roosevelt when I was there.

Henry and I shared so many musical experiences together-the Bartlesville Symphony, the Coffeyville Municipal Band, the Independence Mid-Continent Band, Ye Big Olde Dance Band, and trombone students that he sent to me over many years. He was a great influence on our son in band, and I am sure had a lot to do with John's decision to become a career military bandsman. Henry was an organist, clarinetist, bassist, and conductor of great ability. He will be missed.

Mrs. Millen, both of my daughters had Mr. Millen in school. He also happened to be at the same fishing hole at the city park sometimes when my husband was there, so they would fish and shoot the breeze together. Our family was very saddened to hear about his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
