Hi Grampa Gene,
Not a day goes by that I don't think about you. What a joy to have you in my life, attending the reunions together and our phone conversations. I wish I could turn the clock back so I can visit with you again - two years is a long time without you. I am glad that Vic Campbell interviewed you and placed the videos on YouTube and http://chinagunboat.blogspot.com/2009/11/paul-jones-veteran-gene-schindler.html so that I can see you, your smile, hear your words and laughter. So now with modern technology and social networking, I expanded my passion for the Asiatic Fleet by posting information on LinkedIn. Amazingly, one of my work colleagues new Walter Ashed! Imagine that! Anyway, Just wanted to let you know that I love you so much and you are not forgotten.
