Obituary of Dennis Garton

Coffeyville - Dennis E. Garton, 69, of Caney, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville. He was born September 3, 1944 at Bridgeport, NE to Bendy and Elaine (Siglinger) Garton. Dennis grew up and attended school in Pierce, CO. Dennis was a house painter in Piece, CO for many years. In 1983 he moved to Caney. Dennis enjoyed collecting Football and Baseball Cards, and old Record Albums, and was an avid Denver Bronco's fan. Survivors include two sons, Jeff Garton of rural Caney, and Scott Garton of Edna, KS; two sisters, Linda Lobato of Greeley, CO, and Laurel Schnell of Littleton, CO; two brothers, Ben Garton of Windsor, CO, and Larry Garton of Fort Collins, CO; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan, Zane, Courtney, McKenzie, Kaila and Seth; and five great grandchildren, Brayden, Tucker, Traxson, Tinley, and Timberly. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one grandson, Timothy Garton. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the Tyro Christian Church with David Bycroft officiating. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney. Friends may call on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
