Mildred Violet King, 89, of Coffeyville, passed away Friday, July 22, 2011 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, OK.
She was born August, 6, 1921 at Carona, KS to Bernard and Flossie McCormick. When she was young her family moved to Coffeyville where she grew up and attended school.
On June 20, 1941 she married Guy King. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville. Mr. King preceded her in death in 1990.
Mrs. King was a homemaker, and attended the First Assembly of God. She enjoyed quilting.
Survivors include one sone Michael King of Coffeyville; one sister, Louise Stills and George Chronister of Coffeyville; one brother, Joseph McCormick ; two grandchildren; Ronald Alexander, and DeRhonda Newby and husband David and two great-grandchildren, Cecillia and Cooper Newby
Following Mrs. King's wishes cremation has taken place and no service is planned at this time.
The family suggests memorials to the Dearing Volunteer Fire Department; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
