To the friends and family of Pauline. I encourage you with these words from the Bible, "to be absent from the bodyis to be present with the Lord. (2Co 5:8). When a believer is absent from their body (physical death) their real inward person is present with the Lord. Then the scripture goes on to say " to be with Christ is far better" (Php 1:23). The memory of the [uncompromisingly] righteous is a blessing Prov. 10.7.
All of my memories of Pauline are a blessing to me and inspirations that motivate me to keep on pressing to the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Even through Pauline has moved to heaven the memory of her life on earth still speaks to us here on earth.
My first memory was at Prairie Center on our first day of school. The teacher sent us both to the blackboard to write numbers and alphabet. Pauline filled the board with numbers and letters. My board was blank but Pauline along with the teacher taught me to do numbers and the alphabet. From first grade through high school Pauline and her spirit of excellence always challenged me to do better.
Pauline believed in the value of relationships and was a key figure in bringing the class of '57 together for reunion. Now she is enjoying reunion with her heavenly friends and family.
I believe and know that I shall see Pauline again. Why? Because we have made Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. According to John 5.24 at that moment we passed from death to life! Trust the Lord Jesus Christ and you will gain victory over the fear and grief of death.
For us who are left behind we take comfort in what Paul said, "To live is Christ, and to die is gain" (Col 3:3).
Father, I thank you for giving beauty for ashes, joy for mourning, comfort and hope beyond the grave to those who are friends and family of Pauline. Help them to see through Christ we overcome eternal death and the grave. But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1Cor. 15.57
