Virginia Ruth Burns, 65, of Coffeyville, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.
She was born August 22, 1945 at Parsons, KS to James Elmer and Oneita (Davis) Keller. When she was young her family moved to Coffeyville where she grew up and attended school, graduating from Field Kindley High School in 1963.
She married Morgan Starrett, Jr., together they had four daughters. They were later divorced. Later she married Danny Burns, they were divorced.
Virginia worked for Wal-Mart for 21 years before going to work at Cessna Aircraft Co. in Independence where she worked in the upholstery division.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Coffeyville. Virginia enjoyed sewing, photography, and scrap booking.
Survivors include her four daughters, Pam Starrett of rural South Coffeyville, OK, Tamara Powell of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, Yvette Brown of Coffeyville, and Missy Buchanan of rural Coffeyville; her mother, Oneita Keller of Coffeyville; one sister, Judy Brady of Coffeyville; one brother, Don Keller of Tennessee; eleven grandchildren; and her beloved cats Georgie, and Gracie. She was preceded in death by her father.
A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010 in the Church of Christ. Private family inurnment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville.
Friends may sign the register book on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to Coffeyville Friends of Animals; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
