I would like to offer my condolences. My father, Ross Land Fitzpatrick, was Mr. Hey's mother's first cousin. I heard often so many nice things about this branch of our family. If anyone can give me information about Nellie Ruth's parents, I would be glad to share mine.

Klinell and family - My deepest sympathy to all of you. What a nice tribute to French the funeral and graveside services were.
French was a great gentleman that loved the Lord, his family and his country. He was a man of many talents and was pleasant and kind to everyone he met. He was a wonderful neighbor and like so many others, I shall miss him.

"Mr." Hay was a teacher of mine at Lowther Jr. High School in Emporia in about 1958 or so. His presence was imposing and that was an encouragement to have homework completed by class time each day. He obviously had a significant impact on many lives throughout his years. May the Lord be near you and your family during these difficult days.

French Hey was one of God's triumphant creations, always positive, always smiling, looking for the good in everyone. French was a person who could voice his faith at any time, in any setting, without upsetting anyone while still making his message crystal clear. When I learned that French was gravely ill I told my congregations to expect a ripple in the universe to coincide with his passing. Friday evening I was depressed almost to the point of tears. Saturday morning I received the news of French's victory over this life. May God bless each of us who had the privilege of knowing French. I pray that the emptiness left by his physical absence will be filled with healing, joy, and wonderful memories in Klinell's life, and the lives of everyone who loved French.

Dear Klinell,
I am so sorry to hear about French. At least we know he is not suffering anymore and has made it home to the place we aspire to be someday! I really don't know where to begin, but I want you to know how highly I thought of French. He was always such a happy person and brightened my day when I spoke with him. I will always remember the fun times we had in church choir back in the bass section. I'm sure we were a handful ha ha.
I am thankful to have known French for the years I did and to have called him a friend and a mentor. I appreciate all of the encouragement and help he gave me throughout my education; I know that was something he had a passion for. He will be sorely missed!
Klinell, if there is anything at all that I can do for you, please let me know and I will be there in a flash. You and French both hold a really special place in my life.
Sincerely,
Danny Funk

Klinell, You and French were a great team. I think of your devotion to his mother, your service to your community through the Salvation Army, and to your church. He leaves a big hole in the lives of those who loved him. May God grant his family and friends peace and assurance as they adjust.

I find it a great priviledge to have known and loved French. He was an incredible man of many talents. I had the honor of being a co-worker with him but most importantly I could truly call him my friend. When my life was a mess and I was going through the illness and death of my husband, French was an emotional support system to me. He checked in on me often and there were times I would come into my office and there would be some chocolate on my desk, not much, just a little to let me know he had been there. He was a great man, a great husband, a great father, and for me a GREAT friend. I will miss him.
