Obituary of Paula Eden

Coffeyville - Paula Eden, 61, of Coffeyville, passed away Tuesday night, September 21, 2010 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She was born February 28, 1949, at Paola, KS to Howard and Frances Marie (Sheridan) Keltner. Her family moved to Coffeyville when she was young, Paula attended school in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley High School and Coffeyville Community College. On March 16, 1968, she married Gerald R. "Jerry" Eden at the First Christian Church in Coffeyville. Following their marriage they made their home in Hutchinson, Stafford and Lindsborg, before returning to Coffeyville in the early 1980's. After returning to Coffeyville Paula was employed as a Church Secretary, for the last several years she was the Church Secretary at the First Southern Baptist Church in Coffeyville. She attended Tyro Christian Church in Tyro, was a member of the Gideon Auxiliary. Paula loved serving the Lord, quilting, traveling, snow, the Colorado Mountains, her favorite color purple, singing, listening to music especially Alan Jackson, spending time with her family; and had a deep admiration for the men and women serving our country in the armed forces and our flag. Survivors include her husband, Jerry of the home; three daughters, Tammy Brown and husband Dennis of Salina, Toni Riley of Coffeyville, and Tiffani Kendrick and husband Mike of Coffeyville; her mother, Frances Marie Keltner of Coffeyville; two sisters, Alice Faulkner of Ozark, MO; and Janice Harwood and husband Jay of Clifton, CO; seven grandsons, one granddaughter; and was extremely close to Jerry's brother and sister. Paula was preceded in death by her father; and one sister, Donna Keltner. A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Tyro Christian Church with David Bycroft officiating. Friends may sign the register book on Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Tagged as: Tyro Christian Church
