Wanda Jean Knox, age 75, of Coffeyville, passed away February 27, 2010 at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, following an illness.
Funeral services for Wanda Knox will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Bethel A.M.E. Church at 12th and Maple in Coffeyville, with the Rev. Adam Easley officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Coffeyville, KS.
Friends may call from noon to 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 7, at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
Wanda Knox was born October 30, 1934, in Coffeyville, to Reverend Samuel Johnathan Jones and Fern Idella (Austin) Jones. She attended Cleveland Elementary, Field Kinley High School and Coffeyville Community College.
She had worked for the State of Kansas as a case manager in the Department of Human Resources and owned and operated Double E's Barbeque in Coffeyville. She was a member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church, the Order of Eastern Star, JPTA, SEKCAP, Coffeyville Senior Citizens, PINCH, and was a Salvation Army Volunteer.
Wanda is survived by one daughter, Elector Sayles of Tulsa, OK; one son, Donovan Manns Elias of Hutchinson, KS; Four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Eric and Johnathan Elias.
